Arts Management
I have worked in the visual arts industry for over 25 years, as a curator, gallery manager, collection manager and academic.
My enthusiasm for the arts and culture has seen me make the arts, arts management and outreach, in its various forms, the focus of my career. Specialising in Western Australian contemporary art wish a keen interest in local and social history, I have worked on a local, national and international scale as a curator, gallery manager, acting director, tour coordinator, collection manager, producer, lecturer and artist. I have run my own design, business development and communications company since 2001 and have worked in this capacity in numerous other roles.
My varied career has lead me to actively realise the power that strong and creative management has in the deliverable, operational and financial success of an arts organisation.
I have a Bachelor of Arts, Visual Art, Curtin School of Art, Curtin University of Technology, and a Diploma of Fine Arts, Western Australian School of Art, Design and Media & Claremont School of Art. I am a practising artist and have exhibited in across Western Australia. My creative work directly links to my research and background in cultural heritage and contemporary arts.
On a personal level, my sheer passion for the arts, my love of very peculiar challenges and working with people to realise bold visions – is what drives me. I am a solid team player, strong on ethics, who relishes the opportunity to enact positive change.
